MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. Abkhazia wants as many countries as possible to recognize its state sovereignty and values partnership and diplomatic relations with those countries which have already recognized it, Abkhazia’s Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits said.
"Indeed, Abkhazia is a partially recognized state, we want more countries to recognize Abkhazia’s state sovereignty. We value very much our partnership, diplomatic ties, and friendship with the countries which committed to recognize Abkhazia’s sovereignty. We maintain very close contacts with them," he told TASS in his first interview with the Russian mass media.
According to Bartsits, Abkhazia has a record of successful diplomatic contacts with a number of countries, such as Nicaragua and Venezuela. An Abkhazian business delegation is expected to travel to Nicaragua in the near future to discuss interstate relations in various areas, as well as ways of boosting operational and integration ties.
