More than 2,800 people remain under rubble in Gaza — region’s health officials

It is reported that the area continues to be bombarded by the Israeli military

RABAT, November 7. /TASS/. More than 2,800 people are remaining under the rubble in the Gaza Strip as the area continues to be bombarded by the Israeli military, Al Jazeera television reported, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.

"More than 2,800 people in the Gaza Strip are still under the rubble," a ministry official told the television channel.

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7, accompanied by killings of residents of settlements near the border and taking hostages. Hamas regards the attack as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and has started delivering strikes on that area and parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
