EU mission begins work on Armenia — Azerbaijan border

Governor of Gegharkunik province Karen Sargsyan added that over 80% of the citizens temporarily displaced due to hostilities have already returned to their homes

YEREVAN, October 29. /TASS/. The civil monitoring mission of the European Union started to work on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, its employees visited the sites on the Armenian side, Governor of Gegharkunik province Karen Sargsyan said on Saturday.

"The mission has already begun, we visited the sites on the border with its members," he said.

Sargsyan added that over 80% of the citizens temporarily displaced due to hostilities have already returned to their homes.

Earlier, the Armenian government reported that because of hostilities with Azerbaijan on September 13-14, approximately 7,000 people were forced to leave their homes.
