Iran accuses foreign intelligence agencies of involvement in riots

According to the statement, the CIA, British intelligence agencies, Israel’s Mossad and the Saudi Arabia intelligence "played an obvious role in the riots and violence."

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Intelligence agencies from the US, the UK, Israel and Saudi Arabia are involved in the riots in Iran, Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization said in a joint statement Friday.

According to the statement, the CIA, British intelligence agencies, Israel’s Mossad and the Saudi Arabia intelligence "played an obvious role in the riots and violence [in Iran]." Their goal was to "undermine the security" of the country. The "planning and practical implementation of most of the riots was carried out by Mossad in cooperation with takfirist groups," the statement says.

The mentioned intelligence agencies shipped "military and espionage equipment" to their agent networks operating inside Iran, while US intelligence even trained its Iranian agents, including the cameraman who took the first photo of Mahsa Amini during her stay in the hospital.

Riots have been going on in Iran for over a month after the burial of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died on September 16. According to the official version, Amini was detained by the police for wearing a headscarf improperly. During the questioning, she had a heart attack, which caused her death. However, social media disseminated information that Amini was beaten by the police. On October 7, the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization published an official report about the cause of death, stating that Amini did not suffer any injuries.
