Zelensky’s office says major energy facility has been damaged

Earlier, it was noted that there was a need to further restrict power supply

KIEV, October 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian presidential office said a strike damaged a major energy facility during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, prompting a major shortage of electricity in central parts of the country.

"There were hits at a large energy facility in one of the regions on the Ukrainian territory during the night. That has caused a really large shortage in the central region, the central node. That mostly is affecting Kiev, the Kiev Region, and the Zhitomir, Cherkassy and Chernigov regions," Kirill Timoshenko, deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, said on Rada television.

He earlier said there was a need to further restrict power supply.

Ukraine’s national power company Ukrenergo earlier on Thursday reported damage to the power grid in central parts of the country. That caused power cuts in Kiev and the Kiev, Zhitomir, Cherkassy and Chernigov regions.
