Ukrainian-Belarusian border ‘currently stable’, says official

According to Andrey Demchenko, Ukraine’s border with Belarus "has been strengthened as much as possible, fortifications have been built and continue to be built, as well as sheltered locations"

KIEV, October 25. /TASS/. The situation on the Ukraine-Belarus border is stable, Ukrainian State Border Service Spokesman Andrey Demchenko said on Tuesday.

"The situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border is currently stable and under control. As for the number of Belarusian troops stationed near the border with Ukraine, we haven’t seen any changes. They are deployed there on a rotation basis," he told the Rada TV channel.

According to Demchenko, Ukraine’s border with Belarus "has been strengthened as much as possible, fortifications have been built and continue to be built, as well as sheltered locations."

The Ukraine-Belarus border is 1,084 kilometers long.
