LUGANSK, June 26. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces once again used the Tochka-U missile system to shell the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), the LPR mission to the Joint Ceasefire Control and Coordination Center reported on Sunday.

According to it, the Ukrainian forces fired one missile at the town of Stakhanov.

In recent days, the Ukrainian military has been shelling the LPR almost daily, using Tochka-U missiles. On Friday, they targeted Stakhanov, Bryanka and Teplichnoye, while on Saturday night, Svatovo came under fire.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics for assistance he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in Ukraine. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, noting that the operation was aimed at the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
