WASHINGTON, October 3. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump will be taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland and remain there for several days, White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said on Friday. She added that the head of state will continue to work from there.

According to her, Trump "remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day."

"Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days," press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement, which was spread by the White House press pool.

Earlier, Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, said that the US leader is "fatigued but in good spirits."

A video message

Trump posted a video message on Twitter before flying to the Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday. In that message he assured that he and First Lady Melania were doing well.

"I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I am going to Walter Reed hospital. I think I am doing very well but we are going to make sure that things work out. First Lady is doing very well. So, thank you very much, I appreciate it, I will never forget it," he said.

Trump contracted the coronavirus a month before the US presidential election, which is due on November 3.
