BERLIN, August 18. /TASS/. Disagreements in relations with Russia must be resolved through dialogue, German Chancellor Angela Merkel told reporters before talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She added that in the light of a large number of conflicts, Berlin and Moscow are responsible for finding ways to resolve crises around the world.

The Chancellor stressed that she intends to continue the dialogue that was started in Sochi.

"I think that the fact that there are many serious conflicts around the world stresses the need to search for solutions. We are responsible - both Germany and Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council," Merkel said.

"We must work on finding solutions. This primarily concerns Ukraine," Merkel said.

"I hold the view that disagreements can only be resolved through negotiations," she added.
