FSB raids drug lab in Moscow Region, seizes over one ton of reagents

According to the FSB, a 22-year-old native of Ukraine was detained

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. Officers from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) uncovered a drug laboratory in the city of Zaraisk, Moscow Region, seizing over a ton of reagents and 13.5 kilograms of mephedrone, the FSB branch in Moscow and the Moscow Region said in a statement.

According to the FSB, a 22-year-old native of Ukraine was detained.

"The perpetrator set up a lab to produce mephedrone at a country house in the town of Zaraisk, Moscow Region, which had a monthly production capacity of over 100 kilograms," the statement reads.

"During an inspection, over a ton of ingredients and chemical reagents and 13.5 kilograms of mephedrone, as well as packaging supplies, were seized in the household," the FSB added.

According to the FSB, the young man bought the ingredients and chemical reagents on the Darkweb. He sold the mephedrone by stashing the drugs in forests in the Moscow and Ryazan regions, which he disclosed during questioning. He is charged with illegal drug production and attempted drug trafficking, punishable with up to life imprisonment.
