Repair work to reinforce Crimean Bridge left side completed - deputy PM

MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. The work on reinforcement of the left side of the Crimean Bridge after the incident is over, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin wrote on his Telegram channel on Saturday.

"Good news concerning the Crimean Bridge. Just a week after the accident, the work on the left side of the bridge was finished. The builders have done work to reinforce the sections of this lane, then they conducted tests and received conclusions on the tests," Khusnullin wrote.

On Friday, Khusnullin announced that the Crimean Bridge might reopen for trucks on Saturday, October 15.

On October 8, a truck was blown up on the Crimean Bridge, collapsing two eastbound parts of its road section and subsequently setting ablaze a train of fuel tanks on a separate, adjacent rail portion of the bridge. Four people were killed. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the incident. Rail traffic has been restored on the bridge, which was also partly reopened for cars.
