YEKATERINBURG, October 11. /TASS/. The Sverdlovsk Region’s branch of the federal security service FSB has prevented a terrorist attack in an administrative building in Nizhny Tagil.

"The Sverdlovsk Region’s branch of the FSB has prevented a terrorist attack in an administrative building in Nizhny Tagil. As a result of a special operation, a 59-year-old local resident, a citizen of Russia, who arrived in the Sverdlovsk Region from Ukraine in 2014, was exposed and detained. The plotter was remanded in custody," the FSB’s press-service said.

The FSB is investigating a criminal case opened over preparations for a terrorist attack and attempted illegal making of explosives.

The man’s home and place of work were searched. The substances that the native of Ukraine planned to use to make an improvised explosive and incendiary device were found and confiscated, the FSB said.
