Russia restricts access to SoundCloud saying it disseminates falsehoods

According to Roscomnadzor, it had twice reached out to the owner of the website demanding to remove the prohibited information

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. The Russian communications watchdog, Roscomnadzor, on Sunday said it had restricted access to the music sharing website SoundCloud acting on a demand from the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.

"Acting on a demand by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, Roscomnadzor restricted access to the SoundCloud service over hosting materials that contain inaccurate information regarding the essence of the special military operation in Ukraine, its form and methods of warfighting," the agency said.

According to Roscomnadzor, it had twice reached out to the owner of the website demanding to remove the prohibited information. Access to the platform will be unblocked if the information is removed, the agency said.
