Restoring enterprises in DPR and LPR is a priority — Russian official

Marat Khusnullin also said that the construction of social facilities and housing has started in Mariupol, while the main parameters of the city’s master plan will be approved within a month

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. Launching enterprises on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) is a priority for Russia, as it will create jobs, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

"It is very important to launch local enterprises as soon as possible so that people can get jobs," he said and added that there are also plans to assess the prospects for restoring and developing all settlements of the republics

He also said that the construction of social facilities and housing has started in Mariupol, while the main parameters of the city’s master plan will be approved within a month. The possibility of additional strengthening of Mariupol port capacities is also being considered.

Khusnullin noted that "the costs of this work [to restore the city] are still difficult to estimate, but they are quite large".
