UNITED NATIONS, October 29. /TASS/. Russia has requested that the United Nations Security Council convene a meeting on October 31 in connection with the Ukrainian attack on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, which are employed to ensure security of the grain corridor, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said on Saturday.
According to the diplomat, Russia has officially notified UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that it suspends participation in the implementation of the grain deal.
"In light of the attack conducted by Ukraine on October 29 against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet involved in ensuring the security of vessels carrying Ukrainian grain under the so-called ‘Black Sea [Grain] Initiative’, the Permanent Mission has notified the UN Secretary General that Russia was suspending its participation in it," the diplomat wrote on his Telegram channel.
"In addition, we have requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on this subject on Monday, October 31."
