MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. In his address at the first plenary session of the Russia-Africa summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin will place special emphasis on the priorities for cooperation between Russia and African countries within the United Nations, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov has told the media.
"Our address will focus, in particular, on the growing role of Africa, as well as the priorities for Russia’s engagement with the continent’s nations within the UN and other major international and regional organizations," Ushakov specified.
Putin will also discuss joint projects and initiatives currently underway in African countries - covering trade, the economy, cultural and humanitarian ties, and educational exchanges - as well as the support Russia provides for the development of states across the African continent.
"Following this, a second plenary session will take place. The work and discussions will continue at a working luncheon - tentatively scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Delegations from African countries that did not speak during the first session will be given the floor. Every single head of an African delegation - regardless of their level of representation - will be provided with an opportunity to speak," Ushakov concluded.
