MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Alyoshki’s residents will be able to leave the city unimpededly, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"The military is already working to agree the ceasefire duration there to ensure this humanitarian mission," he said. "Those willing to leave this settlement will be able to do so."
This will "require serious and thorough preparations involving various representatives," he said, adding the US First Lady Melania Trump is playing a coordinating role. He also noted that this topic had been raised during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent phone call with his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
On September 21, the Kremlin spokesman described the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki as critical. Food and medicines cannot be delivered to the city amid Ukrainian shelling and drone attacks. More than 1,200 artillery and drone strikes had been delivered by Ukrainian troops on Alyoshki over the week, the district’s head Ruslan Khomenko said on October 19. People from neighboring settlement on the Dnieper left bank tried to deliver food to Alyoshki, but Ukrainian troops did not let them do this.
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire in Alyoshki in the Kherson Region, the White House said earlier in the day. The ceasefire will come into effect on October 29, 2026. The sides agreed to cease hostilities in Alyoshki to "allow for humanitarian aid to enter and to prepare a civilian evacuation through a designated safe passageway," the White House said, adding that an independent US media organization will assist and document the actions of both Russia and Ukraine during the ceasefire.
