No request for conversation between Trump, Putin from Washington yet — Kremlin

"You understand correctly," Dmitry Peskov said, when asked whether there really was no request from Washington

MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. There are currently no arrangements on a telephone conversation between the Presidents of Russia and the US, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and no requests have come from Washington, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, Trump said that he plans to speak with Putin this week following the US-Ukrainian talks in Saudi Arabia.

"You understand correctly," Peskov said, when asked whether there really was no request from Washington.

The last telephone conversation between Putin and Trump took place on February 12. For an hour and a half, the leaders of the two countries discussed the Ukrainian issue, as well as the long-standing problems in relations between the two countries.

Following the March 11 talks in Saudi Arabia, the US and Ukrainian delegations came to a shared view on approaches to starting a settlement of the conflict, as it is understood in Washington and Kiev. In particular, representatives of the two countries consider a 30-day complete ceasefire necessary.
