Russia to name those who ordered, plotted Crocus terrorist attack — FC speaker

Valentina Matviyenko stated that a number of countries "are trying to put pressure on the public opinion from the outside and say in advance who is guilty and who is not guilty"

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russia will do its utmost to identify the plotters and masterminds of the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack and make their names public, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said at a meeting with the heads of international affairs committees of the BRICS countries’ parliaments.

"We will do everything to find out who ordered this brutal, bloody crime, who financed it, and who supplied the weapons. We will definitely bring this investigation to its logical conclusion. And we will disclose to the whole world who was behind and who organized the mass murder of civilians, including women and children," Matviyenko said.

At the same time, she stated that a number of countries "are trying to put pressure on the public opinion from the outside and say in advance who is guilty and who is not guilty."

"We have just started the investigation, but already some people at some places have pointed to whom they see the perpetrators of this terrorist attack. No, we do not succumb to any influence or pressure. We have quite professional security agencies, investigative bodies, and judicial system," Matviyenko said.

"No country alone can defeat this evil, because behind every such terrorist act there are sponsors of terrorism, there is someone who is interested in it. The special services of our countries must effectively cooperate and prevent such terrorist acts. If such joint work is fine-tuned, it will be possible to identify terrorists and prevent such crimes," she emphasized.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack was committed at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. According to the latest data, 144 people were killed and 551 injured. Eleven people, including four perpetrators, have been arrested. The Investigative Committee said had evidence of the attackers’ connections with Ukrainian nationalists.
