MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed that a ban be instituted on the discharge of untreated wastewater into Lake Baikal, as set out in the directives of the Russian leader made during his address to the Federal Assembly.
"The Russian government shall ensure the establishment of a ban on the discharge of untreated wastewater into Lake Baikal and requirements providing for the creation of the necessary infrastructure for the treatment, neutralization and disposal of production and consumption waste, compliance with which is mandatory for the construction and operation of tourist industry facilities in the central ecological zone of the Baikal natural territory," the list published on the Kremlin's website reads.
This must be done by September 1, 2024.
