MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops wiped out six Ukrainian army command posts in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Friday.
"The strikes by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed six Ukrainian army command posts in the areas of the settlements of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region, Nevskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Torskoye, Seversk and Zvanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the city of Nikolayev, and also 74 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 167 areas," the spokesman said.
Russian forces repelled the Ukrainian army attacks in the area of the settlement of Berestovoye in the Kharkov Region, eliminating over 150 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk area, the enemy’s reinforced battalion attacked the positions of Russian troops in the area of the settlement of Berestovoye in the Kharkov Region. All the attacks were repelled," the spokesman said.
During the combat, Russian forces destroyed enemy manpower and military equipment, the general said.
"As a result of damage inflicted by firepower, over 150 Ukrainian troops, one tank, five infantry fighting vehicles, four armored personnel carriers and nine pickup trucks were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.
Russian forces pushed Ukrainian army units back to initial positions in the enemy’s attempt to attack in the southern Donetsk area, he said.
"In the southern Donetsk area, a company tactical group of the Ukrainian army attacked the positions of Russian troops in the area of the settlement Vremevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy was pushed back to initial positions by active operations of Russian units and artillery fire," the spokesman said.
Russian troops eliminated over 30 Ukrainian militants, one tank, two combat armored vehicles and one pickup truck, the general specified.
Russian troops halted the advance of two Ukrainian battalion tactical groups in the Lugansk People’s Republic, eliminating over 50 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, two battalion tactical groups of the Ukrainian army conducted offensive operations in the area of the community of Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The enemy was stopped by active operations of Russian troops," the spokesman said.
Russian artillery and army aviation strikes eliminated over 50 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, three combat armored vehicles and two motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian artillery and combat aircraft delivered strikes against the Ukrainian army’s reserves and subversive groups in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, eliminating over 180 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, Russian artillery and army aviation aircraft delivered concentrated strikes in the past 24 hours against the Ukrainian army’s reserves advancing from the depth of the territory and also against subversive groups near the engagement line. Over 180 Ukrainian troops were eliminated," the spokesman said.
Russian troops also destroyed eight Ukrainian combat armored vehicles and six motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian forces obliterated five Ukrainian army ammunition depots in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Five Ukrainian army ammunition depots were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Vesyoloye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Davydov Brod and Novaya Kamenka in the Kherson Region and the city of Nikolayev," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter, six HIMARS and Uragan rockets and intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Air defense capabilities shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near the settlement of Novaya Kamenka in the Kherson Region. They intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the communities of Nikolskoye and Berislav in the Kherson Region. In addition, they shot down six rockets of HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of the settlements of Novaya Kakhovka and Tokarevka in the Kherson Region and Pokrovskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 326 Ukrainian military aircraft, 164 helicopters, 2,356 unmanned aerial vehicles, 383 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,130 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 876 multiple rocket launchers, 3,532 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,823 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
