MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces are continuing attempts at breakthroughs near Krasny Liman, but all their attacks have been rolled back, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, said on the Rossiya-24 round-the-clock television news channel on Friday.
"As far as the crucial Krasny Liman area is concerned, the enemy continues attempts to penetrate the lines of defense. Just the day before, there was an attempt by the enemy’s BTG (battalion tactical group - TASS) to break through towards Chervonopopovka. It was quashed. The enemy sustained heavy losses in both manpower and materiel," Pushilin said. "Three tanks, four armored vehicles and four pickup trucks were destroyed."
On October 1, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that due to a threat of encirclement troops were withdrawn from Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People's Republic to better positions.
On October 5, Pushilin said Krasny Lyman would be retaken.
