LUGANSK, October 26. /TASS/. While Ukrainian armed forces are trying to test the defenses in the area of the cities of Lisichansk and Popasnaya, weather conditions don’t allow either side to mount a strong offensive, Vitaly Kiselyov, an aide to the Interior Minister of the Lugansk People’s Republic, told TASS on Wednesday.

"Counterbattery battles are now underway near Lisichansk and Popasnaya, where I was yesterday, due to the weather conditions that don’t allow them (Ukrainian troops - TASS) and our guys to advance. But Ukrainian forces still make attempts to make headway, albeit small and chaotic ones, in order to probe our defenses. That does take place," he said.
