Russia plans to sign cooperation accords with four African countries, says official

It is reported that four more intergovernmental agreements on establishing intergovernmental commissions with Tanzania, Cameroon, Kenya and Senegal during the second Russia-Africa summit are to be signed

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Russia intends to sign agreements on the establishment of intergovernmental commissions dealing with trade, economic, research and technology cooperation with Tanzania, Cameroon, Kenya and Senegal, said Pavel Kalmychek, director of the Department for Bilateral Cooperation Development of the Ministry of Economic Development, on Tuesday.

"Intergovernmental commissions with 17 African countries are in effect at present. Efforts are underway to expand the geography of intergovernmental commissions. We expect to sign four more intergovernmental agreements on establishing intergovernmental commissions with Tanzania, Cameroon, Kenya and Senegal during the second Russia-Africa summit," the official said.

In Kalmychek’s speech, he outlined the main tasks that need to be solved for the development of Russian-African cooperation in the current environment. These are, in particular, expanding the range of trade, searching for new logistics chains, setting up inter-bank cooperation and participating in infrastructure projects.
