Ukraine’s military steps up preparations for Zaporozhye offensive, says official

The Ukrainian military has redeployed its air mobile brigades from the Zhitomir and Vinnitsa Regions to the Zaporozhye area

MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military has stepped up preparations for an offensive at the Zaporozhye engagement line, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, told TASS on Monday.

"The enemy is redeploying equipment and reinforcing positions very actively, which suggests preparations for an offensive," the official said, commenting on the situation at the engagement line.

The Ukrainian military has redeployed its air mobile brigades from the Zhitomir and Vinnitsa Regions to the Zaporozhye area, he said.

"Military hardware consisting of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles is being redeployed. What’s more, even air mobile brigades from Zhitomir and the Vinnitsa Region are arriving," the official said.

The Ukrainian military is also moving mobilized citizens to the engagement line. They have undergone training in Western Ukraine and are "manning dozens of assault groups," he said.

Several units of the Ukrainian army’s 65th brigade have arrived in the area of the community of Gulyai Pole. Indicatively, this brigade was initially supposed to leave for Volyn, for the area of Lutsk in Western Ukraine," Rogov said.

"All this suggests that [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky’s militants are preparing for an offensive. To all appearances, it seems to be a conglomeration of all those whom they can gather to push them to be slaughtered in order to roll out a picture for Western media outlets and they need to do that before the US elections," he stressed.

The official earlier said that the situation at the Zaporozhye engagement line was tense but under control and any breakthrough attempts by the Ukrainian military were thwarted by Russian troops. He said that constant clashes were underway in the Pologi and Vasiylevka districts where Ukrainian subversive/reconnaissance and assault groups were feeling out the situation.
