Number of mobilized citizens reaches 260,000 — senior lawmaker

Nina Ostanina noted that, on October 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the mobilization will end in about two weeks

MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. The number of Russian citizens conscripted under the partial mobilization has reached 260,000 people, says Nina Ostanina, head of the State Duma Committee on family, women’s and children’s affairs.

"During the [Wednesday closed discussion - TASS] in the State Duma, [Deputy Defense Minister] Nikolay Pankov said that 251,000 people out of 300,000 have been mobilized. Today, this number stands at 260,000; it is just 14% remaining until the mobilization goal," Ostanina told TASS after the meeting with Pankov.

She noted that, on October 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the mobilization will end in about two weeks.

"The mobilization will end next week. This was said by Deputy Defense Minister Nikolay Pankov and confirmed by Mobilization Department head Yevgeny Burdinsky," Ostanina added.
