DPR police officers bust neo-Nazi ‘Right Sector’ cell in Mariupol

One of the officers said that as a result of the ministry’s activities, it "received a list of members and accomplices" of the Right Sector syndicate

DONETSK, October 21. /TASS/. Law enforcement officers from the State Security Ministry of the Donetsk People's Republic uncovered a cell from the Ukrainian extremist organization Right Sector (outlawed in Russia) in Mariupol, the government agency’s official spokesman Mikhail Popov reported on Friday.

"During the processing of operational information of the DPR’s State Security Ministry in the city of Mariupol, the support base of Dmitry Yarosh, the organizer and ringleader of the extremist Right Sector (banned in Russia) was uncovered. Yarosh is wanted in a criminal case initiated by the DPR Prosecutor General's Office based on the crime under Part 1 of Article 328 of the DPR Criminal Code (Actions aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, humiliation of human dignity against a group of persons on the basis of belonging to a social group)," he said in a video posted on the DPR territorial defense headquarters’ Telegram channel.

In turn, one of the officers added that as a result of the ministry’s activities, it "received a list of members and accomplices" of the Right Sector syndicate. "Together with the investigators of the DPR State Security Ministry, we conducted searches at the places of residence of the mentioned persons, during which right-wing extremist literature, as well as nationalist paraphernalia were seized," he said. According to him, the search of persons involved in this organization is currently underway.
