Russia is of greater interest for Asia lately — Putin

"We are developing new logistical chains crossing this region to a greater degree, regional countries are interested in that and new opportunities emerge from the standpoint of cooperation and developing own competencies," the head of state noted

ASTANA, October 14. /TASS/. The Russian Federation has become even more interesting for Russia and trade volumes are growing, President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Friday.

"It seems to me that now [Russia is of interest for Asia] even more," the President said. "Trade volumes are actually growing, and growing at the same time at a quicker pace than in prior years," Putin noted. "We are developing new logistical chains crossing this region to a greater degree, regional countries are interested in that and, finally, new opportunities emerge from the standpoint of cooperation, from the standpoint of developing own competencies," the head of state added.

"Certain enterprises long buried in oblivion" are considered in terms of the recovery, including "on an absolutely new technology base," the President said. "This can be done in particular in Central Asian countries. This is interesting for us and for our partners," Putin noted.
