LPR says Ukrainian forces trying to break through LPR defense lines near Troitskoye

The officer said LPR intelligence is registering a retreat of Ukrainian sources in the area of Artyomovsk

MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Andrey Marochko, an officer of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic, on Thursday said Ukrainian forces had been trying to break through the LPR defense line in the area of village of Troitskoye over the past week.

"For a week now (the enemy - TASS) has been trying to break through the defense line near the settlement of Troitskoye, but our guys are holding strong out there and aren’t giving up a single inch of their soil," he said on Channel One television.

Marochko said Ukrainian troops "is applying pressure in the north of our republic, and that’s the border line with the Kharkov Region." According to the officer, there have been assault attempts near the settlements of Svatovo and Kremennaya.

"But again, they haven’t achieved much there. They roll back all the time, suffering losses. Our servicemen have taken out up to 55 troops, two artillery guns, six armored personnel carriers and 10 motor vehicles over the past day alone," he said.

The officer said LPR intelligence is registering a retreat of Ukrainian sources in the area of Artyomovsk.

"I can say that our servicemen are active deep inside Artyomovsk, not on the outskirts. <...> in Soledar, we are holding very advantageous positions and we don’t let the enemy regroup and send forces elsewhere," Marochko said.
