Japanese authorities continue their policy of degrading relations with Russia — envoy

It is reported that the Russian envoy slammed further restrictions imposed by Tokyo as shortsighted, and stressed that they caused "growing and multifaceted damage" primarily to Japanese companies

MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Tokyo continues to pursue a destructive policy of degrading relations with Moscow, which does not meet Japan's long-term interests, Russian envoy to Tokyo Mikhail Galuzin said during a Rossiya-24 TV broadcast on Thursday.

"Unfortunately, the Japanese leadership continues its destructive line of further degradation of Russia-Japan relations. I don't think this is in Japan's long-term interests," he said.

In this regard, the Russian envoy slammed further restrictions imposed by Tokyo as shortsighted, and stressed that they caused "growing and multifaceted damage" primarily to Japanese companies. "Japanese companies that are withdrawing from our market under sanctions are suffering serious losses," he continued, "Attempts to put pressure on us in the energy and food sector are an additional factor in the growth of energy and food prices."
