MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s remarks about willingness to engage in diplomacy with Russia on Ukraine are at odds with the real steps taken by Washington, which is getting increasingly involved in the multifaceted support for the Kiev regime, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement on Saturday.

Zakharova pointed out that the Ukraine-related public messages coming through from the US administration in recent days "combine provocative bellicosity with rambling hints about the possibility of a US-Russian dialogue on the matter."

"Nevertheless, the main thing is the real steps of Americans and their satellites. And they are in stark contrast to the supposedly peaceful rhetoric. The arms supplies to the Vladimir Zelensky regime are on the rise, the number of Western mercenaries and instructors is growing right on the ground, the United States is getting deeper embroiled in the multifaceted support of its clients in Kiev. And this against the backdrop of Zelensky’s insane calls on his masters to conduct a preventive nuclear strike on Russia," Zakharova stressed.

According to the statement, Zelensky’s "irresponsible demagogy" seems to be starting to scare even those who demand to "defeat Russians on the battlefield."

"Hence, evidently, the rushing of Joe Biden’s team that has brought up evil by themselves without even giving a second thought to the consequences which are catastrophic for the world, and most importantly, for themselves," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.

Earlier, Blinken said that the US would be ready to engage in diplomacy with Russia on Ukraine when Moscow shows such an interest but Washington cannot see it yet.
