MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi will visit Moscow in the coming days, during the visit the safety and normal functioning of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant under the guidance of Russia's relevant agencies will be discussed, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said at a press conference on Wednesday.

"I confirm the report that he is going to come to Kiev and then to Moscow, it will be in the next few days," Vershinin said.

According to him, this visit is a follow-up to Grossi's trip to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. "You know that he put forward a number of ideas that are now being discussed by experts: nuclear safety, exclusion of shelling of the plant, conducted by the Ukrainian side, and the plant’s normal functioning, which is now in the Russian territory and, respectively, should work under the guidance of our specialized agencies," the senior diplomat pointed out.

The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located in Energodar, the Zaporozhye Region. An IAEA mission led by Grossi visited the plant in early September. After the mission left the plant, two of its employees remained at the site as observers. Later, the IAEA published a report calling for the creation of a safety zone around the plant to prevent accidents caused by hostilities.
