MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. The Pentagon’s statement on the possibility of using HIMARS rocket systems supplied to Kiev against targets in Crimea again proves the US direct role in the conflict, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"These statements are new confirmations both direct and indirect that the United States is directly involved in this conflict, which creates a very dangerous situation," the Russian presidential spokesman said, replying to a corresponding question.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Laura Cooper earlier stated that the US authorities believed that the HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems that Washington had supplied to Ukraine and the associated ammunition enabled the Ukrainian military to strike targets particularly in Crimea.
