Situation along line of contact near Krasny Liman stabilizing, DPR leader reports

It is reported that the enemy certainly keeps trying to break through

MOSCOW, October 4. /TASS/. The situation is stabilizing along the line of contact in the direction of Krasny Liman, leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin told Channel One on Tuesday.

"The frontline situation is stabilizing there. The enemy certainly keeps trying to break through, but their forces are not what they used to be, because certain reserves have been pulled from near Artyomovsk and Slavyansk," he said, adding: "The allied forces have done a good job."

The allied forces have been building a major line of defense near Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), located northeast of Krasny Liman, the DPR leader said. "According to the information on the ground that I have been receiving, the enemy does not stand a chance [of advancing towards Kremennaya]," he reported.

The DPR leader also said Ukrainian forces were retreating in certain areas of Artyomovsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut), while the allied forces had been gaining ground there. Ukrainian troops had pulled reserves from the direction of Artyomovsk, too, when they attacked Krasny Liman, he specified.

Earlier, the LPR People’s Militia officer Andrey Marochko told TASS that Ukrainian forces were trying to break through defenses, hit with colossal losses, but that the situation in that direction was still under control of the allied forces. On October 1, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, said that allied troops had been pulled out of Krasny Liman to avoid encirclement.
