Russian Interior Ministry opens army recruitment centers for foreigners

It is noted that the right to obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure has been granted to foreigners who have signed a service contract with the Russian Armed Forces

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry has opened recruitment outlets for foreigners wishing to serve in the Russian army under contract, the Interior Ministry’s press-service has said. The outlets are open at the Interior Ministry’s territorial offices and regional passport and visa service divisions.

"For the convenience of foreign citizens who wish to enlist in Russia’s Armed Forces special outlets for accepting applications from foreign citizens for contract military service have been opened at the Interior Ministry’s territorial offices and regional branches of the federal state unitary enterprise Passport and Visa Service," the Interior Ministry’s press center said.

The Interior Ministry recalls that the right to obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure has been granted to foreigners who have signed a service contract with the Russian Armed Forces, other troops or military formations participating in the special military operation. Also, the simplified citizenship acquisition procedure applies to the members of their families: parents, spouses and children.
