Russian air defenses destroy 15 HIMARS rockets in Ukraine operation — top brass

It is noted that the Ukrainian military lost over 500 troops in the Kupyansk area in the past three days

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces shot down three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed 15 American HIMARS rockets in the past day in their special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday.

"The air defense capabilities shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Valeryanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region and Borozenskoye in the Kherson Region. In addition, they shot down 15 rockets of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the areas of the settlements of Novaya Kakhovka, Vesyoloye and Novaya Zburyevka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.

The Ukrainian military lost over 500 troops in the Kupyansk area in the past three days, including more than 140 servicemen in the past 24 hours, Konashenkov reported.

"The enemy’s total losses in the Kupyansk area amounted to over 500 troops and about 60 items of military hardware in the past three days," the spokesman said.

The Russian troops delivered missile strikes on the clusters of manpower and military equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 14th mechanized brigade in the area of the settlements of Kupyansk, Dvurechnaya and Kurilovka in the Kharkov Region, the general added.

"The strikes eliminated over 140 militants and 19 pieces of special military hardware," Konashenkov reported.

The Ukrainian military lost 900 troops in the Krasny Liman area in the past three days, including 100 servicemen in the past 24 hours, he said.

"The total losses of the Ukrainian army’s 66th and 93rd mechanized brigades in that area amounted to over 900 Ukrainian servicemen in the past three days of combat operations," the spokesman said.

In that area, the Russian troops also delivered a massive strike by firepower on the enemy’s reserves and units of the Ukrainian army’s 66th mechanized brigade near Slavyansk, the general added.

"In the past 24 hours, up to 100 militants, six armored vehicles and two Grad multiple rocket launchers were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.

The Russian armed forces successfully repelled all the attacks by the Ukrainian military in the Nikolayev and Andreyevka tactical areas, the general said.

"In the Nikolayev and Andreyevka tactical areas, all the attacks by the Ukrainian troops were successfully repelled. A strike by Russia’s Aerospace Forces against units of the Ukrainian army’s 24th mechanized brigade near the settlement of Davydov Brod in the Kherson Region eliminated up to 60 militants and seven items of military hardware," the spokesman said.

The Russian troops delivered a missile strike in the Artyomovsk area, eliminating over 260 Ukrainian militants and 14 pieces of military equipment in their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.

"In the area of the settlement of Kalinovka in the Artyomovsk direction, a missile strike against the amassment areas of manpower and military equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 10th mountain assault brigade eliminated over 260 militants and 14 items of military hardware," the spokesman said.

The allied forces of the Donbass republics and the Russian army thwarted an attempted offensive by the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk area, eliminating over 100 militants, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Donetsk area, the allied forces thwarted the enemy’s attempted offensive in the area of the settlement of Pervomaiskoye, destroying over 100 Ukrainian servicemen of the 21st battalion of the Ukrainian army’s 56th motorized infantry brigade," the spokesman said.

Russia’s Aerospace Forces wiped out a radar station of a Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.

"In the area of the settlement of Nikiforovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russia’s Aerospace Forces destroyed a radar station of a Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system," the spokesman said.

The Russian forces struck three Ukrainian batteries of Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the Zaporozhye Region in counter-battery fire in their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.

"Three Ukrainian batteries of Grad multiple launch rocket systems were struck in counter-battery warfare in the areas of the settlements of Tsvetkovoye, Svyatopetrovka and Yablokovo in the Zaporozhye Region in the past 24 hours," the spokesman said.

The overwhelming Ukrainian armored units wedged into the Russian army’s defenses in the area of Zolotaya Balka and Aleksandrovka, Konashenkov reported.

‘With its overwhelming tank units, the enemy managed to wedge into our defenses in the area of Zolotaya Balka and Aleksandrovka. The Russian troops assumed an earlier-prepared defensive frontier and continue inflicting massive destruction on the enemy by firepower," the spokesman said.

In that area, the Ukrainian military lost about 130 personnel and 23 items of military equipment, Konashenkov reported.

The Russian troops wiped out five Ukrainian missile/artillery arms and ammunition depots in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kherson Region, the general added.

"Five missile/artillery arms and ammunition depots were obliterated in the areas of the settlements of Kramatorsk, Artyomovsk, Opytnoye and Yampol in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Dobryanka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.

In addition, "the strikes by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops struck 47 artillery units at firing positions and also enemy manpower and military equipment in 146 areas," Konashenkov reported.

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 310 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 155 helicopters, 2,137 unmanned aerial vehicles, 378 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,292 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 860 multiple rocket launchers, 3,444 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,189 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, the spokesman said.
