DPR asks Russia for more Iskander missile systems to fight Ukrainian artillery

The amount of additional armaments will be determined by the DPR reconnaissance, Eduard Basurin said

MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) asks Russia to involve more Iskander missile systems and combat aircraft to fight Ukrainian artillery, Spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin told TASS on Tuesday.

"Yes, so that the Russian Federation pays attention to that and helps with aviation and these same Iskanders to eliminate the enemy artillery in the region," Basurin said, commenting on his statement on the Rossiya-1 television channel earlier on Tuesday when he said that the DPR needed more ground-and air-launched munitions.

The amount of additional armaments will be determined by the DPR reconnaissance, the militia spokesman said.

DPR Head Denis Pushilin published a statement on Monday after the Ukrainian army’s massive bombardments of Donetsk that lasted throughout the day. As Pushilin stated, "an understanding was reached that all necessary additional allied forces will be involved, first of all, those from the Russian Federation".
