Fire in Russia’s Karelia extinguished, three people injured

According to the report, seventeen units of equipment and approximately 50 firefighters were involved in extinguishing operations

PETROZAVODSK, April 3. /TASS/. The fire at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant has been extinguished, Oleg Yermolayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Karelian Government for Economy, said on his Telegram channel.

"The fire has been completely extinguished as of now. Cooling of structures is underway. Seventeen units of equipment and approximately 50 firefighters were involved in extinguishing operations," he wrote.

Karelia's Head Artur Parfenchikov stated on his VKontakte page that the incident resulted in three victims that suffered wounds. "Emergency Ministry firefighters remain on site, with rescue teams monitoring the situation via quadcopters. While there were no fatalities, three individuals sustained injuries," his message confirmed.

According to the regional Emergencies Ministry department, three people have been evacuated from the burning workshop and are being taken to medical facilities.
