Casualties reported in blast at ammo warehouse in Belgorod Region

Russia’s Investigative Committee chief, Alexander Bastrykin, has issued instructions to launch a criminal probe into the attack

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. The Russian Investigative Committee reported casualties on Friday in an explosion at a warehouse for ammunition in the Belgorod Region.

"An ammo warehouse in the settlement of Oktyabrsky in the Belgorod Region was hit in a Ukrainian attack, and ammunition exploded. According to preliminary reports, there are casualties," the investigators said.

Russian National Guard officers are among those killed, law enforcement officials specified.

Russia’s Investigative Committee chief, Alexander Bastrykin, has issued instructions to launch a criminal probe into the attack. Also, rockets were downed by Russian air defense systems near Novy Oskol, where rocket shrapnel damaged power transmission lines near a railway route. As a result, rail traffic is currently suspended, and no casualties have been reported.
