Russian Citroen dealer recalls over 1,600 cars due to risk of problems with electronics

MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. Russian Citroen dealer Peugeot Citroen Rus recalls 1,638 Citroen C-Crosser vehicles in Russia, sold from January 2009 to September 2010, the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) said Thursday.

"The reason for recall is a possible failure of the electronic component of the BSI (Body Control) units, which could lead to malfunction of certain equipment at the recalled vehicles," the statement said.

The vehicles that fall under the program will have BSI unit replaced.

All repairs will be performed free of charge to owners.
