Russian stock indices decline as trading on Moscow Exchange opens

The yuan-to-ruble exchange rate at the Moscow Exchange opening fell 3.1 kopecks compared to the previous session's close, reaching 12,213 rubles

MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. The Russian stock market is showing a decline in key indices at the start of the main trading session, according to data from the Moscow Exchange. The yuan is also declining.

As of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX and RTS indices rose 0.34% at the opening of the main trading session, reaching 2,331.67 and 891.7 points, respectively. The yuan-to-ruble exchange rate at the Moscow Exchange opening fell 3.1 kopecks compared to the previous session's close, reaching 12,213 rubles. By 10:35 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX Index had declined to 2,317.52 points (-0.27%), while the RTS Index was at 886.31 points (-0.27%). Meanwhile, the yuan exchange rate fell to 12.231 rubles (-1.3 kopecks).

The Moscow Exchange Index with the additional ticker (IMOEX2) rose 0.28% at the opening of the morning trading session to 2,330.35 points, according to trading data as of 7:00 a.m. Moscow time.
