NEW DELHI, April 1. /TASS/. The temporary lifting of sanctions on Russian energy resources creates opportunities for the Global South, but Russia is interested in long-term contracts rather than spot deals, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said at a roundtable organized by the Pathfinder Foundation research center in Colombo.
"The temporary lifting of sanctions on Russian energy resources is an opportunity for the Global South. However, Russia is interested in long-term partnership rather than spot transactions," the deputy minister was quoted as saying by the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka.
According to Rudenko, "such an approach will help strengthen global energy security."
