European Volleyball Confederation clears Russian teams for international tournaments

The Council confirmed that this decision applies to CEV organized competitions involving national teams, but specific implementation terms and corresponding organizational mechanisms will be worked out and submitted to the Administrative Council for approval at a later date

MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. /TASS/. The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has cleared Russian national teams for participation in international tournaments, the press office of the Russian Volleyball Federation (RVF) announced in a statement on Wednesday.

"The CEV Administrative Council discussed the decision of the International Volleyball Federation [FIVB] regarding the admission of Russian national teams and officials to participate in international competitions," the statement reads.

"The Council confirmed that this decision applies to CEV organized competitions involving national teams, but specific implementation terms and corresponding organizational mechanisms will be worked out and submitted to the Administrative Council for approval at a later date," the statement added.

On July 8, the Board of Administration of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) ruled to lift all previously imposed restrictions against Russia following recommendations from the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC announced a decision on July 7 to provisionally lift an earlier-imposed suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and also recommended lifting restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes in all international tournaments.
