MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom intends to extend the license for operating the first unit of Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and has already submitted documents for the license extension, the corporation CEO Alexey Likhachev, said answering a question from TASS.
"Last December, the operating organization submitted documents for the extension. We have no doubt that we will fulfill all the requirements of Rostekhnadzor (Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Oversight of Russia - TASS) in this part, and I am confident that we will be able to extend it within the appointed time. The first unit first, then all subsequent ones," he said.
Likhachev noted that for Rosatom "there is no unknown space here." "These are our thousand-strong reactors (VVER-1000 reactors - TASS). Of course, it is very important to understand that we operate a number of the same reactors in the Russian Federation. Therefore, we have a high repair base, a base of spare parts," he said.
