Russian GDP gained 4.1%, above expectations — PM

The nominal size of GDP reached $2 trillion last year, Mikhail Mishustin noted

MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. The Russian gross domestic product (GDP) gained 4.1% in 2024 or 0.2% above the official forecast, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

"The Rosstat [Russian state statistical service - TASS] presented their [economic indicators] first estimate. The Russian GDP increased under it by 4.1%, that is, 0.2% higher than it was in the official forecast. This is above expectations," the Prime Minister said.

The nominal size of GDP reached 200 trillion rubles ($2 trillion) last year, Mishustin noted. "As a result of the revision we received the nominal size of the GDP, this is the historical maximum in the country -200 trillion rubles in 2024," he added.
