MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. Aeroflot Group plans to transport 47 mln passengers by the end of 2023, which is 15% higher than the figure for 2022, Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"In total, the Aeroflot group will transport 47 mln passengers in 2023. This is 15% higher than the results of the previous year," he said.
Aeroflot airline itself plans to transport 25 mln passengers in 2023, Rossiya Airline - 9mln, and low-cost carrier Pobeda - 13 mln.
At the same time, Aeroflot Group increased its share of the domestic air transportation market by 6 percentage points and carried 37.5 mln passengers in 2023, Alexandrovsky said. "With regard to transportation on the domestic Russian market, we increased our share by 6 percentage points and reached 37.5 mln passengers," he noted.
Flight safety must always come first, Putin said in turn. "I have heard many times that our citizens, and not only our citizens, travel and fly with some companies [airlines] and are waiting to move to Aeroflot planes, since the level of quality of service is kept at a particular level that has been achieved by the prior administration of Aeroflot. As a result, I ask that you pay attention to this," Putin said. "Of course, safety comes first, always," the president added.
Aleksandrovsky stressed that flight safety is always a top priority for the company.
