Authorities expect that "such support will enable the aviation industry to achieve serial production of at least 36 airliners per year"

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. The Russian government will allocate 15 bln rubles ($242.5 mln) for aviation plant equipment, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday.

The government stipulated measures required for development of high-technology production facilities as part of the urgent action plan in support of the economy, the Prime Minister said. "Among them is aid in outfitting aviation plants with modern equipment, so that they can offer high quality products, relying on their own base. We will allocate 15 bln rubles for these objectives with the condition that the first equipment batch will be contracted as early as in this year, and the other ones - within the next three years," Mishustin said, referring to MC-21 passenger jet production.

Authorities expect that "such support will enable the aviation industry to achieve serial production of at least 36 airliners per year." "Such airplanes are needed for the domestic market in the first instance, so that our citizens can use services of this kind of transport irrespective of external pressure," Mishustin stressed.
