Russian troops have seized a number of strongholds and dominant heights in the South Donetsk direction, the assault detachments of the Russian Armed Forces have advanced more than three kilometers deep into the enemy's defense, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

"In the southern Donetsk direction, Russian troops wiped out enemy manpower in the areas of Novomikhailovka and Vladimirovka settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic during the offensive, as well as seized a number of strongholds and dominant heights," Konashenkov said.
