Ukrainian shell hits office of district administration in Donetsk

According to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes, NATO-caliber 155-mm shells were used in the attack

DONETSK, October 20. /TASS/. The office of Donetsk’s Voroshilovsky district administration was hit by a Ukrainian shell during a shelling on Wednesday night, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) territorial defense headquarters reported on Thursday.

"As a result of shelling, the office of the Voroshilovsky district’s administration <…> sustained a direct hit," the headquarters said in its Telegram channel.

A TASS correspondent reported from the scene that a nearby office of Promsvyazbank was also damaged in the attack, with plumes of smoke seen rising from the building’s roof.

According to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes, NATO-caliber 155-mm shells were used in the attack.

"A shelling attacks by the Ukrainian armed formations was registered: in the settlement of Netaylovo at 23:40 and in the city of Donetsk (Voroshilovsky district)," the center said in its official Telegram channel. "Three 155-mm shells were fired."

Earlier, a TASS correspondent reported that two blasts were heard in the city center of Donetsk on Wednesday night. Shortly after, plumes of smoke were seen rising from the Lenin Square.
