Kiev rejects peace talk offers as it continues to shell new regions of Russia — Putin

Vladimir Putin noted that the constitutional laws on the accession of the four new regions to the country went into effect, but the will of the people was ignored in Kiev

NOVO-OGARYOVO, October 19. /TASS/. Ukraine has rejected all offers to negotiate a ceasefire, continuing to shell Russia’s new regions and using outright terrorist methods, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a Security Council meeting held via video conference.

"The Kiev regime, as you know, has refused to recognize the will and choice of the people, it rejects any proposals for negotiations. On the contrary, shelling continues, civilians are dying," the Russian president said. "Neo-Nazis (the Ukrainian armed forces - TASS) are using overt terrorist methods, sabotaging life support facilities," Putin added.

The president stressed that "during the referendums, the residents of the Donetsk and the Lugansk People's Republics, as well as of the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions firmly and unambiguously expressed their will: they want to be together with Russia". Putin noted that the constitutional laws on the accession of the four new regions to the country went into effect, but the will of the people was ignored in Kiev.

According to the Russian leader, the Banderites’ successors are sending sabotage groups into Russian territory. "Just like their ideological predecessors, the Banderites, Hitler's accomplices, [neo-Nazis] are trying to create a criminal underground, sending sabotage groups to our territory," he pointed out, stressing that it was Ukrainian special services that organized the bombing of the Crimean Bridge.

"We have foiled terrorist attacks in other regions of Russia as well, including in places where there are many people, against transport and energy facilities. I would like to emphasize, including nuclear power facilities," Putin summarized.
